Muma carries with her the experience of the Golden Age of Argentine Tango: her mother sang with Francisco Lomuto, Alberto Castillo was her dad's buddy, and she learned to dance the traditional way, as a child, from her relatives. Muma kept on dancing until she started a family, and re-entered tango in the 1990's. Since then she has been dance partner with lifelong milongueros such as Osvaldo Natucci, Ricardo
Vidort, and Dany Garcia, among others.
Muma is a different kind of tango instructor because she does not teach step sequences. Instead, she teaches her students to dance the way the milongueros and milongueras dance: "bien parados" (maintaining good balanced posture), "pisando bien" (stepping well), and being "en el compas" (dancing on the beat). In other words, she teaches exactly what is needed to dance correctly in the social dance setting. Those who have taken lessons from her have experimented a fundamental change in the way they dance.
